I received this book free from the publisher. Opinions shared are mine.

Based in Mississippi, The Promise of Breeze Hill highlights the nuances of society in the late 1790's. Though this book comes from a publishing house known for its Christian fiction titles, The Promise of Breeze Hill doesn't come across as an faith-based story. It is more of a clean historical romance, which makes it good for a wider audience. It's a good story for those who enjoy society dramas like Downton Abbey and Upstairs, Downstairs. Consider this when you have a few hours to spend on the breezy plantation grounds!

After tragedy strikes, Isabella is in charge of her family's Mississippi plantation. She hires Connor, an Irish carpenter, as an indentured servant to rebuild the family home after it is partly destroyed by fire. I enjoyed this book and the time period of the pre-Civil War South.
