The result was a collection of copyrighted videos, Profiles in Literature, that provide insights into the creative motivation of these writers and artists at various stages in their careers. This book summarizes and quotes extensively from the personal interviews in the video series and also expands/updates guests' background data. The heading of each chapter gives the interview's production year. "Update" may appear at the end of a chapter so a guest's recent achievements can be cited. All guests are highly celebrated: Aliki, Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary, Tom and Muriel Feelings, Russel Freedman, Ezra Jack Keats and many others. They include winners (or honor book recipients) of the Caldecott, Newbery, Coretta Scott King awards and the Hans Christian Anderson Medal among others. This fascinating look into the life of so many famous people encapsulates their insights at various stages of their careers.
