Evan Smoak has retired the Nowhere Man; but he is having a hard time filling his days. A woman named Veronica who claims to be his mother asks for his help. Andrew Duran is down on his luck. He is at work one night when he witnesses a murder. Now he is on the run from two assassins who are hot on his trail. Evan searches for Andrew and learns that he is part of Evan's past.

This was an interesting addition to the series, but I didn't like it as well as the previous book. The story lost me when it went into detailed description of a new technology that is being used as a weapon. But I love the characters in this series, especially Joey and Dog who help Evan with the case. My rating: 4 Stars.
