You get what you get with Patterson's co-authored books. The private series is fast becoming a challenge to read. Take this book for example. The multiple subplots, which are a mainstay for the series, in this book are shallow and boring. The trial of one of the employees of Private never takes the serious turn that could have made it the centerpiece it tries so terribly to be. The other main sub- plot about foreign diplomats on a kinky crime spree falls flat on its face. And I am getting really fed up with the "Evil Twin" shenanigans. The animosity between the brothers has run its course and needs to die a terrible, gruesome death.

I really like most of James Patterson but this series is just not my style. The problem for me is that there are way too many characters to keep up with. I started making a list so that I could backtrack and see who/what they were about. This book had nearly 50! Lots of different story lines as well. Too busy!!
