This a great book, loved the two main characters, can't wait for the next book to come out!!!
I am always left wondering how such poor books receive so many 5 star ratings. This is another author, whom I used to love, who has resorted to turning out books that are formulaic and whose cardboard characters leave me totally uninterested in their fate. Honestly, I was unable to make it through the first two chapter. I read the other reviews and all I could think was "Did you get paid to write the review?" I was bored after the first ten pages. I could not finish and place it right back on my PB bookshelf. Sorry Nicole Jordan!
Liked the fairy tale (Cinderella) retelling. It's not an exact one; but it works well. Maura has her own profession (horse breeder) and thus her own income. The step-mother isn't truly evil and there is a nice development with her and Maura by the end of the book. Ash isn't a true prince, but is rich ($$ and titles= problems fixed).
I liked that Maura was a strong character and didn't hesitate to take action. I also liked that Ash was willing to help her out. I enjoyed the Wilde clan.
I didn't like when Ash made decisions unilaterally without discussing it with Maura first. At times, he was too pushy.
