I can't believe this is the same Leanne Banks who's written many Silhouette Desires in the 90s. A lot of those are on my keeper shelf, but after not reading contemporary or Leanne for quite a while, I sought her out.

The writing in the first forty pages of this book (all I could take) was a big disappointment. On every page (sometimes twice) a character was twitching their lips in amusement, or mildly amused by something. "Amusement" cannot be the only emotion these people have. And the storyline just slogged.

Very disappointed in this. Guess we have keeper shelves for a reason and I'll be going back to mine rather than seeking out her more current books. Bummer.
