I enjoyed this story about Eliza and Jasper. She's an independent heiress enduring her 6th London season and he is a thief-taker she hires to investigate what she believes to be someone's attempts to force her into marriage.
While the premise of the story proves to be a little far fetched, it was the writing itself that I sunk into and didn't want to leave. The author manages to create an atmosphere of sensuality between the two main characters that is addictive. I loved the interaction between the two of them! He is brusque and Eliza struggles a bit to adjust to the less flowery, gentleman-like behavior he exhibits. It rang very true for me.
The only thing that took me out of the story at times was her overuse of a couple words, but beyond that it was a real pleasure.

A fun, super hot, sexy Regency-era romance. Perhaps not particularly faithful to the times, but a believable romance with a lot of hot sex. If you're not into detailed sex scenes, this book is not for you. My only quibble is I don't really understand the stories where the heroine is deflowered with the hero's fingers. Like how is that romantic?

The first book I have read from Sylvia Day's Georgian Series and it was great. I intend to read them all now.

Someone not easily noticed; a proficient dancer, quiet, and even-tempered...so do certain men Thief-taker Jasper Bond is entirely too large, too handsome, and too dangerous. Who would believe that an intellectual like Eliza would be seduced by a man of action? But the combination of her stubbornness and the mystery makes the case one Jasper can't resist.
