I wouldn't have bought book on a this subject, except for the author. Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove,(not the TV version, but the book) is one of our all time favorites.

Pretty Boy Floyd doesn't reach that level, but was surprisingly enjoyable. As always with McMurtry, character development is wonderful. The story is facinating, and not a blood and gore kind book. I think most people would enjoy it, I did.

Fun and quick read, adding personality to the details we don't know about Charley Floyd's life. It's fiction with several jumping points to learn more about American history. I'm a distant relative of Mr. Floyd's and I enjoyed it.

Couldn't identify with main characters and storey moved much too slowly which is unusual for McMurtry as I loved "Lonesome Dove".

A fictionalized account of Pretty Boy Floyd. A fast, interesting read about Charley Floyd. He is charming and the women love him. Enjoyable to read.
