For fans of William W Johnston and his excellent story telling, the Preacher series is about one of his best characters and this latest book certainly stays on that course. It keeps the Preacher as a full fledged hero of the old west.

As a loyal reader of Johnston's works for many years, my husband says this is a must read for any Johnston fan and especially of his best character, the Preacher.

Typical william and JA Johnstone story. I personally do not believe it is quite as good as William Johnstone's original works, but still enjoyed reading it.

Johnstone is one of those writers that understood the West of that era rather well. He does, as so many, use some of the same phrasing and referrals from time to time so you have to just read and enjoy. His books are simply for entertainment but following a character from book to book and year to year creates added anticipation. You want to make sure you read sequintually, as much as possible, to maintain the consistancy.
