Wonderful book!! This is a collection of stories told to a young woman who just moved to a small town in Colorado by an elderly woman who has lived in this town for over 70 years. The author did a fantastic job of weaving all the stories togther. It has a suprise ending so do not peek ahead to the end, it may spoil the book for you. Happy reading!!

One of the best books I have ever heard read. Great story and great reader.

Listening to this audio book is like spending quality time with a good friend. The relationships are lovely; the language of the time is such fun; and the slice of life set in the mountains of Colorado during the late 1800s to early 1900s gave me a perspective on my own life. This is a great read.

This is just a wonderful book. Well written novel about a mountain lady and her life and those around her. She is a quilter and a storyteller who calls it as she sees it. You will not be disappointed. :)

Written with period and local accents and dialog. A great story of life in the rural mountains with people who learned to live on very little with minimal conveniences. But truly a story of caring, strong people committed to helping their fellow man while being filled with heartaches of their own, which just made the joyous things of life much more meaningful.
