This seems like a very well written book. Gets you to focus on a scripture that many people think is too hard to follow. There are a lot of stories told and personal encounters that show you exactly what the author is talking about.
Carothers has rightly discerned the reality of one of the greatest weapons that is provided for our own welfare. Praise has the effect of allowing us to be outer centered upon our Lord, and to get away from being so inner centered as difficult situations arise, regardless of what they are.
The scripture "God indwells the praises of His people" comes to play and God so quickly acknowledges our evidence of dependence upon Him that our praise stance finds Him coming to our aid rather quickly.
