This book was excellent. It is a sprawling epic of the beginning of the war against drugs. Many details are historically accurate, and the references to real-life events and people (e.g. Oliver North) make the reader forget that this is fiction. Don't be intimidated by the length of this book: you will read until your eyes blur.
