This book was great up until the end. The end was just absolute crap and sticks with the "formula" this author keeps using. She is continually killing off the bad guys with Scarpetta at the scene of the crime and it's just getting old. I mean really, how many times are serial killers just outright killed on the street instead of taken into custody? (And by a doctor no less?!?!) She tries to get all these facts into the books regarding forensics and crime and then makes an ending that is hurried and ridiculous. If the rest of the book weren't so well-written, I'd throw my hands up and quit reading this series. If the books continue to have such unoriginal endings, I probably will, because I expect authors to try some diversity in their storytelling instead of always having the villain killed by the heroine, who, in this story, is just a medical examiner. I mean really, how many M.E.s do we here about taking out bad guys like this one does? Good grief.

This Scarpetta Book was one of my favorites (and I've read them all). She is very descriptive in this book in regards to the Potter's Field - which I found exciting. I couldn't put it down. I find that I respect her work ethic and her personality greatly. Awesome read!!!
Lots to learn in this story. Excellent writing showing all the really cool things scientist due to solve a case. Lots of action and twists and turns. If you like a book or book series that is going to grab you from the start these are them! A great read.
Patricia Cornwells Kay Scarpetta is a character who becomes addicting. Smart, Funny, brave, and tough she is a character who sticks with you, and you will find yourself wanting to read the whole series. Chapters are on the shorter side so the book is easier to digest.
Very good Scarpetta book...a little dark, but gripping. You learn more about her neice Lucy in this one. This is one of the reasons I love the Scarpetta series..her characters are so strong.

A Dr. Kay Scarpetta forensic novel. This plot implicates Scarpetta's nemesis Temple Brooks Gault. It leads Wesley, Marino and Scarpetta on a convoluted trail...is there any other kind in a Cornwell mystery?
