I'm not a serious postcard collector, but this book caught my eye because of the wonderful postcard art it contains. Much of the imagery is magical and mysterious, and some of it downright hilarious. The book is organized into chapters by holiday: New Year's, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Guy Fawkes Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and others. Information about each holiday at the front of each chapter, but there is also a lot of other information about postcard collecting, the symbolism contained on the holiday cards, and more. The book should appeal to artists, collectors, and social historians.
