Of the three in Madeline Hunter's series (By Arrangement and By Design being the other two), By Possession was the most touching. There is a history between the main characters which endears them more to one another. Both Addis and Moira are likeable, sympathetic, and courageous.
There is plenty of passion, but it has depth. I couldn't put the book down. Addis and Moira have become one of my favorite love stories of all time.

Moira is a beautiful, proud and courageous serf-woman who has loved only one man since she was twelve.
