If you like the Renaissance (sp), the Borgias, political intrigue, or how the Catholic Church worked in those days, then this is the book for you. The book is written in the first person, by the poisoner for the Borgias, who is also responsible for the Borgias safety - that they are not poisoned by their enemies. Even though you know it's fiction, it's a fascinating look into those times. This has to be the first book in a series, because the end leaves too many questions to be answered, so be prepared to say "oh, $#*!" at the end.
I wanted to get into it. But I just couldn't. Seemed to move to slowly for me.

I really liked this book! Started reading it because I fell in love with the Showtime show, The Borgias. Poison was an exciting read for me, and it seemed to really pick up speed towards the middle/end. When I read other reviews for this book, a lot of readers made it seem like there was a ton of sexual situations, but Francesca (the main character) only does it, I think, twice, and it doesn't go into heavy detail. But anyway, the characters seemed likable and not very annoying. Looking forward to reading the second book! :D
