Exciting book! It is (as usual) better than the movie. My husband read the book when it was first released years back and enjoyed it the second time around after watching the movie.

Retired Marine sniper Bob Lee Swagger is enticed back into the field unaware until it's too late that the game is rigged.

Excellent read. If you like the book, you will probably like the movie based on the book "Shooter". And vice versa.

Bob Lee Swagger was the best sniper in Vietnam and almost 20 yrs later, he lives as a recluse in the Arkansas mountains with his dog, bothering no one, and just enjoying his guns. When he's approached by a couple of men who try to recruit his "help" in stopping an alleged assassination plot against the president of the United States, his senses rise and he knows everything isn't copacetic. This book leads the reader through several twists and turns along the way, with an even bigger shocking ending. I loved this book and Bob Lee Swagger. They're calling this Book #1, but I'm not sure how Book #2 could come about with the way it ends. A reader can only hope, though!

As a former sniper for a government agency, I can say that Point of Impact is a very exciting book that is true to the principles of shooting. Hunter takes his writing seriously, and his research is meticulous. If you are familiar with the movie, SHOOTER, starring Mark Walhberg, it is based upon this book. There are differences, but minor. I loved both the movie and the book. I read the book in three days (had things that HAD to be done, or it would have been a one-day read). I thoroughly recommend this book to all.

WAY good read, intricate, mesmerizing, detailed and suspenseful!!! MUCH better then the movie. Loved it and hope someone else will have as much enjoyment out of reading it as I did. Not a meek mamby pamby book, not some same old same old summer romance, but a life or death story line with captivating cast of characters that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.

Way too long, too much unnecessary description. The characters were like caricatures of villains and cops. The basic story is good and I finished the book to find out the ending but I skipped over large sections.
