The book is filled with different performance pieces, some by very notable slam poets, such as Taylor Mali and Beau Sia. It encompasses the gamut, from hilarious to sensitive to painful works. I used it for several different speech/performance-oriented classes in college, but it is a worthwhile read by it's own merit.
