A cute book about a boy that brings a cricket to school in his pocket. His teacher has him show it to the class. They have show and tell in first grade. The children ask questions about the cricket. Jay (the boy that has the cricket) lets the children know that crickets only make sounds at night when it is dark.
Jay has picked up a few things besides the cricket on his way to school. The children ask what he is going to bring next and he says beans.
