My favorite book in the world. Tender, beautiful, brilliantly written. I already own four copies or I would request this one.

This short (only 90 pages) novella is a sweet story about the power of believing in things you can't see. A quick read and a touching one; don't miss it.

I enjoyed this little book - it's funny and poignant and reminded me a lot of Roddy Doyle's work (especially Paddy Clark Ha Ha Ha).

Short, sweet, and sad -- those are my biggest impressions here. This is very unusual story, or at least it was for me. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started it, but this was very well done. It's hard to think of things to say that won't give too much away! But I really loved the overall message.

Kind of a peculiar book, but touching in its message. A little girl's best friends go missing and this breaks the little girl's heart. It takes the faith of others to bring them and her smile back. A bittersweet story that is short enough to read in one sitting, but memorable beyond the last page.

Adorable book about two Australian kids who run away, and their imagination.

Sweet and sad novella. The author does an excellent job conveying a sense of time and place through the narration of Ashmol, the young son of Australian opal miners.

Though some translations may be hard to understand at first, the reader gets used to the dialect. A touching story by a big brother about his younger sister and her "imaginary" friends who are in trouble. His sister's health is in his hands as he must find it in himself to believe.

First of all this is an adult story, not a childrens book.It was way more than i thought it would be. Great read. Not really a simple story like it appears, but one that you won't forget. Still flashes in my mind on and off and i doubt i will ever forget this book. Children are a touching subject and i fell in love with these two. I think you will also. Excellent author, my first time reading his work.
