Not Zettel's best, but a decent medical sci-fi.

This is the first book by Zettel I've read, and I liked it a lot. Excellent aliens (which is not a featur I take for granted!), and a complex enough plot structure that it kept me guessing. If anything, I think wedging the plot into 1 novel did it a disservice; the structure set up was complex enough that in some ways I feel the novel skated over a lot of things I would have enjoyed reading in more depth. This meant that a number of the issues raised were not addressed as satisfactorily as I would have enjoyed... but it was still a great read.
