I loved the book. No, it doesn't advance the series story arc [at least apparently so] but I enjoyed the love story. And it certainly laid strings for Hawke's book, Kiss of Snow, due out next year... [Sigh, waiting is SO hard!]
Indigo is one of the wolves' most senior lieutenants. She is strong, fast, trained and dominant. She also has a clearly defined image of what her mate will be like - equal in dominance, a powerful male with a clearly defined place in the pack hierarchy and clearly not one who push her out of her comfort zone. She is NOT ready for Drew, no matter how cute, charming and fun he is.
Drew serves the pack as the Tracker, the one who will track, control, and perhaps execute pack members who go rogue. He is also Hawke's eyes and ears within the pack - both the local den and Snow Dancers' greater interests across the state. As such, his role is outside the clearly defined Table of Operations that Indigo is used to. He is also, protective and younger than she is. But Drew is determined to do what he must so that Indigo will be his. He doesn't care that he doesn't fit her mold - he simply plans on changing her standards...
Indigo has issues, lots of issues, and especially issues about emotional intimacy, overly protective males, and dominance. Drew has issues as well - like any Changeling male he wants to have his female safely out of the way and not out saving the world - but he at least TRIES to suppress them...
I found Drew utterly charming, dominant without being domineering and sneakily efficient in getting past Indigo's walls. Indigo was harder to love as her character was so tightly closed in - which merely goes to show how excellent a job the author does in defining her characters. Her examination of what it means to be a strong woman [started in Riley and Mercy's book] within society is very well done.
One of the things I truly admire about the Psy/Changeling series is that while remaining true and consistent to the original concepts; the author never lets the storylines grow stale. Her world building is simply unparalleled...
I love that we 'check-in' with previous characters in the process of the stories. For that reason I really suggest reading them in order - plus there is an obvious series story arc going as well.

This book is pure romance drama. The psy and the fall of "Silence" is a minor issue. I thought the book is was very predictible and boring. A real disappointment.

I found the first half of this story boring. I had trouble getting into the plot and I wasn't convinced of Indigo and Drew as a couple. I liked them well enough individually, but I didn't think they meshed well. He seemed the goofy, all-around joker and she was so tightly wound. There were plausible reasons given for their personalities, but I still didn't think they were right for each other.
The plot involving the Counsel wasn't engaging this time around and I wish something would happen with them already. I'm getting a little tired of the mystery of the Ghost as well. Things started to pick up toward the end, but I don't think this was the best story in the series. I am looking forward to Sienna and Hawke's story.

I just took this as a fun book. I have to agree it didn't move the council story as quickly as it could, but I have been looking forward to Drew's story for a bit. He's a wonderful, cute character. I'm not sure if this book would be as good if you haven't read the other ones though. It's part of revisiting the old characters that makes it worth while. I also like that it mentions the submissive wolves and what they do for the pack. I enjoyed the book and the relationship development between Indigo and Drew, but didn't have too high of an expectation.

Another great entry in this series. I enjoyed Drew's interaction with the pack. I liked Indigo's strength. I felt both meshed well together. One thing I can say about this series, is they've all been consistently good. Of course, I've had some I enjoyed more then others:-) Looking forward to Kiss of Snow!
