Great job on her first novel. I have read several Amish fictional books, and I would certainly say she keeps up with the best of the other authors I have read. This is the first book of what I believe to be a series of 3. Very quick and easy read!

Since Beth Wiseman's first novel far exceeds any expectations I had when I began reading it, I'm highly recommending it to friends and family. Lillian, her main female character, exudes a refreshingly humorous but realistic nature. While seeking to redeem the mess she has made of her life, Lillian arrives to live with her mother's parents, her grandparents, in their Amish community and experiences gentle acceptance and forgiveness as she learns the Amish beliefs and culture and seeks a relationship with God. Her Amish friends--Samuel, a widower, and his son--marvel at her kindness and cuteness while they grow to love her deeply. Unexpected events grip the reader emotionally. Plain Perfect is a refreshing read!

I loved this book! If you like a book that will make you smile, cheer or bring a tear to your eye, give this one a try. Beth Wiseman did a great job with this touching story that came alive with wonderful believable characters and the day to day life of the Amish. I was quickly swept into this engrossing and sweet Amish romance. Lillian was raised "English" after her mother left her Old Order Amish roots. She had made mistakes and had issues in her life and went to stay with her loving Amish grandparents to sort things out. It is there she meets a young widower--- Samuel and his son David. I am so glad that the author has more books due out in 2009! I am looking forward to reading them!

I don't normally read love stories, but I did read this one, and I am glad I did. The book was filled with drama and anticipation and I found that I could not put the book down. I wanted to know the ending to Samuel and Lillian's life and could not have been more please with how it turned out. I can hardly wait for the other books in the series to come out and look forward to reading other book from Beth Wiseman. Plain Perfect! This is not the typical Amish Romance. LIllian's mother was raised Amish and she comes to her Amish grandparents after big disappointments with her mom and boyfriend This story is full of twists and turns and nothing you expect happens but Beth Wiseman's curves are better.
Beautiful Gift Book.

This book is great for people that are completely unfamiliar with the Amish lifestyle. It provides a good story along with the main tenants of the Amish faith because the main character, Lillian, has to learn everything about the Amish lifestyle from the ground up. While the story is not much different than other Amish stories currently available, I did like that the daughter born to an Amish woman found herself joining the Amish community after years of not knowing much about her Amish family. However, I wish more of her backstory had been explained with the boyfriend she left behind because of his controlling and abusive nature.
All in all, a very good read, and a great start to what I'm sure will be an excellent series.

This is he first book I've read by this author and it won't be my last. She did an excellent job of describing how it must have been for someone from the outside to step into the Amish way of life even when it is their desire to do so.
Really good reading!
First amish story I have read of this nature. Loved it. laughed, cried what more could I want, except more!

I have been reading Beverly Lewis' books about the Amish for many years. This new series by Beth Wiseman is a wonderful addition to this genre. If you love Beverly Lewis, you will love this series. What a lovely and inspiring book that will lift your spirits.
I LOVE this series!!! I recently started reading a number of Amish stories from different authors and I have to say, Beth Wiseman is my new favorite!!! What a wonderful book! I could not put it down! Just started reading book 2 yesterday and I am almost done!! Sooo Good!!! :)

While all of my books can be read as stand-alones, I think it's much more fun to read them in order. I have two series, Daughters of the Promise and Land of Canaan. Some of the characters cross over, so here is the order I recommend:
Plain Perfect (Daughters of the Promise)
Plain Pursuit (Daughters of the Promise)
Plain Promise (Daughters of the Promise)
Plain Paradise (Daughters of the Promise)
Seek Me With All Your Heart (Land of Canaan)
Plain Proposal (Daughters of the Promise)
The Wonder of Your Love (Land of Canaan)
His Love Endures Forever (Land of Canaan)
Plain Peace (Daughters of the Promise)
