I've meant to read this book for some time but just now found myself picking it up.  Reactions of the people of in Oran to efforts to slow the spread of the plague are amazingly similar to those of our own COVID19 pandemic in 2020.   What people will do to get around the guidelines today is not surprising at all.  Seems many of us just cannot learn from past mistakes.  Check it out and see for yourself if you agree.
