Let me first say that I love the Patrick Bowers series that Steven James writes. I would get the latest to read and not want to stop until I finished it. Unfortunately, this new series by him did not have the same effect. I began reading it and just did not care for the writing style. Instead of drawing me in, it did just the opposite. I managed to get to page 105 and decided that was enough. Until this past week, it has been sitting on my shelf for the past few months.
It was going to be mailed to a fellow PBS member so I decided to try and finish it before sending it along its way. Several times after I started back reading it, I thought about not finishing it but kept going. About 125 pages from the end, I finally started to enjoy reading it and when I finished I was thinking that I might actually go on to bk 2 in the series.
There are a lot and I mean a lot, of medical and scientific terms used in this book. I understood what they were getting at even if I didn't understand all of the terms. I did like several of the characters even if the MC, Jevin Banks, didn't appeal to me very much until the end.
