If you have not yet discovered the delightful children's books by King-Smith this is a good one with which to start. If you know his writing, this is one of his best. The movie Babe about the sheep herding pig came from a King-Smith book. In this book a handicapped, runted piglet overcomes the bad parts of his nature to save the whole farm during a devastating flood.
