Sequel to the Peretti classic "This Present Darkness," this book not only continues the series, but continues to challenge the reader to enlarge their view of spiritual warfare. Hard to put down, a very well written novel.

I love this book. The description of the angels and their personality, and how they interact with the demons was really good. It was neat how their actions affected the humans involved.

The second in the series by Peretti and again, the book was exciting but also challenging and perception changing. No pun but this book is a real eye opener.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:5 (ESV)

It all begins in Bacons corner, a tiny farming community far from the interstate. An attempted murder, a suspicious case of mistaken identity, and a ruthless lawsuit against a struggling Christian school threaten the peace of the small town. Sally Beth Roe, a young loner, finds herself in the middle of events beyond her control, fleeing for her life while trying to recall her dark past. She doesnt realize that a demonic army is growing in power and that a spiritual battle is rapidly approaching.

This book brings out the whole Spritual realm to the point that you see it in your mind, therefore, making you extremely mindful of that world. This was the third of Peretti's books that I read, the first was The Oath. I was so hooked with the Oath that I was hooked by the writer. My purchase of this book is still in my library some 15yrs ago. I love this book. My second book was This Present Darkness (read review). All 3 of them.

I must say I was looking for this sequel to have a little more depth than the first book. Sadly though the book was directed mainly towards spiritual warfare, and the prevalence of evil. I felt it geared more towards trying to paint a picture of demonic evil and in doing so, the story plot was over done and a bit dry at times. It ended well, though could have used a better ending. I did enjot the book but the first one was my favorite.
