This book is obviously for, about and by Roman Catholics. The tightly, well written story with believable characters was a refreshing open window to this non-Catholic reader. Mr. Macfarlane is a writer to contend with in whatever media form he may choose. The story was perfectly scary without being creepy. Macfarlane can run with LaHaye and Jenkins any day he wants. A doggone good read!
