Very good, keeps you guessing
An excellent mystery. Fast paced.
Really GOOD story and fast paced, exciting read.
Pearson is always good
This is the first adult book I have read by Ridley Pearson. It started off slow, with the chapters jumping back and forth between characters. I kept at it and about 1/4 way through the book.....I couldn't put it down. Glad I stuck with it. Now to find more books by Pearson.
Very well done! Kept me up late at night to finish!
Found this Autor by accident and now read all of his books. He is called a Thinking Man's Ludlum. Many of his books including this one has a detective Lou Boldt and he is trying to break a network of abductions.
This is another good Lou Boldt mystery. I enjoyed it
I started reading Ridley Pearson's first book by accident but this was one of my greatest finds he is one of best thriller writers
of our times.
of our times.
Lou Boldt is working with the FBI to catch kidnappers that are stealing infants and selling them for adoption. Very good story.

Valerie P. (vprosser) - , reviewed The Pied Piper (Boldt / Matthews, Bk 5) on + 161 more book reviews
From best-selling suspense writer Ridley Pearson, "a thinking man's Robert Ludlum," (Kirkus Reviews) comes a heart-pounding story of deceit and betrayal featuring Seattle detective Lou Boldt and forensic pathologist Daphne Matthews, who must break the brilliantly conceived network of abductions that has shattered lives, terrorized communities, and threatened even Lou Boldt's own family.
Suspense story of deceit and betrayal.
The Pied Piper is Ridley Pearson's most ambitious, intriguing, tightly woven story yet...
"A whodunit that elevates the genre...Ridley Pearson may be the most literate and challenging practitioner of mystery fiction at work today."

5 stars
I got two copies of this one so I'm listing one on PBS. Haven't read it yet, so will give it 3 stars only because I've read other Pearson books I liked.

Who's that knocking at your door? Do you always look? Do you always know? From best-selling suspense writer Ridley Pearson comes a heart-pounding story of deceit and betrayal. Seattle detective Lou Boldt and forensic pathologist Daphne Matthews must break the brilliantly conceived network of abductions that has shattered lives and terrorized communities.
The press is calling him the Pied Piper because infants have disappeared from San Diego to Seattle with only a penny flute left in the crib. With few leads, no witnesses, and all signs pointing to a black market adoption agency, Boldt and Matthews must battle not only the overwhelming odds, but the involvement of federal law enforcement, a news-hungry press, and nervous politicians. The more deeply they probe, the more elusive the truth seems -- evidence is stalled, paperwork misplaced, witnesses overlooked. Why, when so much is at stake?
The Pied Piper is Ridley Pearson's most ambitious, intriguing, tightly-woven story yet.

Coulter's usual convulated story in which Savich and Sherlock once again ride in to save the day.
