He's already under siege--Jock trouble. Then one frosty autumn night, Don is jumped by the Howler. Suddenly they are surrounded by a fog, greenfire, the sound of iron striking iron...and Ashford's real horror begins. Basically a good horror story, I just had trouble stying interrested for the first part of the book.
Not much substance but entertaining nonetheless.

One of the better horror books I've read in a while- characters are realistic and likeable, plot is original, really keeps you reading.
I like Charles Grant and read that this book was on some 100 Best Horror books list, so thought I'd give it a read. I really didn't care for it. Alot of teen angst and a villian that is just not that scary. Not much gore and sex/language is pretty much PG rated. I think this is a story more fitting for the younger set... a tween or young adult.
