This is the 3rd in the Maggie Gardiner and Jack Renner series. It's best to read the series in order as the first book explains the relationship between Maggie and Jack. Basically they both have secrets they don't want exposed and the author lacks giving enough information to the reader in book 2 and 3. She just assumes that the reader already knows about their relationship. The author also tries to educate the reader in each of her books. The subject matter in this book is the mortgage business, banking and crooked lenders. If you are not interested in the subject, you may find the information boring but she carefully researches her subjects and I do find that I do learn a lot from her books. Three women from Sterling Financial are murdered throughout the book. There are lots of suspects to surf through with lots of action and suspense. A surprise twist at the end that I did not see coming makes for an enjoyable read. The book is well-written and researched and I look forward to the next book in the series. I would recommend this book to those who like mystery books with lots of forensic detail.
