Wonderful. Haven't yet read a Michael Phillips book that I didn't like.
I am partial to books relating to the era of time during the civil war and especially focusing on the south. This book was the first I had read by this author and because of it I have picked up others. It covers a lot of the struggles that the blacks had trying to survive during and after the war with a little romance added in. A fast read.
I really enjoyed this book. Good author.
