While I really like this series, this is not one of the best. Rowan's paganism takes a backseat and it really just ends up feeling like an episode of 'Medium.'

While I enjoyed this one, it wasn't as good as the other one I read in this series. Seemed to drag on and story itself went on far too long.

More of the same from the last book, though this one did seem a bit softer in some ways and I liked it more. Same bits about Rowan putting himself in harm's way though, and doing some very stupid things not only physically but psychically/magickally. The scenes where Rowan channels murder victims (in this book and the last one too) come across as more and more over the top. I really think Mr. Sellars needs to move on to a different type of mystery next time with a thoroughly different type of bad guyâbut I have a feeling from the ending of this book that it's not going to happen.

Sellars writes well, although his characters are a bit too uncomplicated for the circumstances. This plot has some imaginative twists, and the story arc about Rowan's nemesis, the witch hunter, is beginning to develop as well. Perfect Trust has less of a horror edge than the first two books, and really brings a note of realism into the series by introducing the PTSD aspect. The point of this book seemed to be to flush out the characters for later installments. Still a really good read.
