I have read at least 10 books by the Gears and this is the best. Incredible characterizations, engaging story and best of all, marvelous humor. Extremely funny well-written book.

story of pre-columbian north america
I have read all the books in the series and found this one to be the best. It is a thick book but it will capture your attention and you won't notice how many pages you've read. It was interesting to see how Star Shell would reach her objective and I especially liked the characters Otter and Pearl. Five stars for this one!

A great plot combined with an accurate representation daily life in pre-columbian America in the Great Lakes area, written by two expert archeologists.
