Definitely plenty of dogs in this mystery book. It is an especially interesting book for those who are interested in Obedience Trials. The main character, Holly Winter, has some very entertaining opinions - everything is in terms related to her experiences with dogs.
Susan Conant writes mysteries that incoporate dogs. Great books!
If you are a lover of "cozy" mysteries (those without blatant discriptive violence), this is a great series. Susan Conant is a skilled writer with a true gift for narrative. Even if you have no interest in dog training or the dog show world, you will find yourself "falling" into this world and having a great experience. If possible, I would recommend reading the series in order. There is great humor, excitement, and wonderful detecting.
This was the first of this series I read and I really enjoyed it. It talked about dogs, but wasn't cutesie, and the mystery stayed a mystery-- I didn't figure it out right away. It does talk about how some people are mean to dogs, but doesn't preach-- it just happens in the story. I really liked it
Like this series, but this wasn't the best. Still a fun read though!
