I had heard excellent things from Stephen King about this author and how he wanted to read all his books, so I started with this--his first one and I was enthralled, but a tad disappointed with all the exposition in the form of a lost diary. Otherwise, it kept me captivated to find out how the poor schlub who was sucked into the mysterious death of a once popular politician would turn out. I have ordered more of his books because i have faith in uncle Stevie.

Fans of Robert Goddard will like this, his first book. A good sign of things to come. If you haven't read Robert Goddard, you are missing some nice novels.
