The Party is a quick, light read. The main characters are all shallow and self-absorbed. The "deep, dark secrets" hinted at in the blurb aren't all that deep or dark. It's really about a bunch of spoiled, selfish people who take a bad situation and make it worse. Still, it's compelling enough to keep you turning pages. I found the ending to be somewhat disappointing, but overall, it was an entertaining read.
