Cecily Peterson was living with an abusive stepfather after her mother passed away, and who knows what would have happened if Tate Winthrop hadnt come to her rescue. Helping her to get out of town, to college and on the road to her dreams, this would have been enough to make her fall in love with himif she hadnt already.
Against his better judgment, Tate has feelings for Cecily as well, but feels that he must marry within his tribe to keep pure Native American bloodlines alive. Cecily might fit in with his tribe and family, but that doesnt make her any less the white woman who he cant have.

I really enjoyed this book! One of Ms. Palmer's better ones!
Archaeologist Cecily Petersen has loved Tate Winthrop since she was a teen, but the handsome Native American refuses to consider a mixed marriage. Instead, he becomes her white knight, protecting her from an abusive stepfather and arranging college grants and housing. But when Cecily discovers that the "grants" were actually outright gifts from Tate, she's furious. Her anger shifts their relationship from friends to lovers and forces them both to confront deeply held convictions and fears. When Cecily learns of a political scandal that could threaten Tate, she's determined to shield him, even though she knows it's likely that he'll never forgive her for the necessary deception.
Loved it. The difference in cultures as seen from anothers eyes creates a great story.
Compellingly handsome Tate Winthrop once boldly came to Cecily Blake's rescue. Her devotion to him knew no bounds, but since the fiercely proud Native American refused to consider a mixed marriage, their passion remained unfulfilled. Shattered by Tate's rejection, Cecily had been forced to leave the man of her dreams.
Now she was back and destined to win.
But when Tate becomes caught in the middle of a shocking political scandal, she realizes they need each other now, more than ever. And this time it is Cecily, a woman embarking on a brilliant career, who comes to his rescue and attempts to shield the man she loves from a devastating secret that could destroy his life.
Diana's intrigue and romance will keep you turning pages!

With political scandal in D.C., nefarious shenanigans on the reservation, and sizzling passion between the hero and heroine, Paper Rose kept you eager to read more. It was very well written .
Her love for him was like a paper rose, which longed for the magic to make it real.

I've read several books by Diana Palmer but this one is by far my favorite. It's the type of story I LOVE - a girl who's crazy in love with her best friend. And it's all about what they go through to be together. If you've never read this one, it is a MUST read. You'll love it.
Im not a reader of this author, therefore this book is like new.
