In general I like Alexis Hall - this one was ok but not nearly as good as For Real or Boyfriend Material (which were both excellent). Summary - former bully comes home, personal growth, etc. I just didn't love it and the constant smoking for one of the characters was distracting and kind of gross. Fiction is FANTASY and this was a bit sad. Well characterized though, I will say, but just... one of them sort of drags the other back instead of them both pulling each other up, I felt, in one way, while they both grew emotionally. As if you can't have both personal and professional success at the same time even in FANTASY ffs.
