This was not one of Johansen's best. Most of her books have well developed characters, smooth prose, tight plots and effectively carry the reader along to interesting conclusions. I admit not even finishing this one as the prose was wooden, and I kept having to re-listen to sections to recall characters and try to keep the plot succinctlly linked in my my mind. I finally gave up, which is rare for me. I fully expect to read more Johansen books and that they will be on a par with her usual excellence.
