Another great story about Mrs Polifax. This time she is sent on a real spy mission to a Swiss Resort (hotel) to "convalesce" while searching for stolen plutonium. Of course she finds other mysteries to solve at the same time.
Mrs Pollifax, busy "old lady" and some-time spy, is sent to a famous health resort in Switzerland to find a missing package of plutonium before another bomb is created. Unlike goofy, dithery "Miss Seeton," Mrs Pollifax is sensible, competent, and fully aware of what she is doing. "A Palm for..." is my favorite title so far.

love this series!
One of Dorothy Gilman's best books, which is saying a lot since she is such a skilled writer. This is the 3rd or 4th in the series. They are best read in order, starting with The Unexpected Mrs. P. I highly recommend this series to anyone!

This series is excellent and surprising. An unusual book because it is about a CIA operative who is well past the age you would normally expect to find. This is because Mrs. Pollifax didn't start until after her kids were raised with kids of their own and she was a widow finding life dull and boring. Her life is anything but now as she circles the globe finding adventure and risk wherever she goes. This is the fourth book in the series.

Mrs Pollifax always gets right into the thick of things. This one puts her right into the mix and, of course, she solves the problem, along with some others!
All of the Mrs. Pollifax books are wonderfully written and adventurous - the quintessential spy novel with a quirky heroine.

Mrs. Pollifax is sent to Swiitzerland to seek out an "evil" agent who is involved in stealing plutonium for his middle-east country. Mrs. Pollifax adventure finds her with an intruder in her hotel room, a murder and her kidnappping...and she must talk and think fast to save her life. A great little book.

A fun read. Not the tip-top of the Pollifax series, but time with Mrs. P. is time spent in enjoyment. (The best, of course, are The Unexpected Mrs. P., The Amazing Mrs. P., and The Elusive Mrs. P. (For those of us who are NOT Angela Lansbury fans, no, the character in the books bears no resemblance to Lansbury, who made one of the films featuring Pollifax. I can't imagine what the film-makers were thinking. Apparently they hadn't fully appreciated the Mrs. Pollifax character.)

#4 in the Mrs. Pollifax series. A great book with lovable, fun characters and the amazing Mrs. Pollifax.
Number 4 in the series.
The author has a great ability to create adventure from the simplist subjects. The adventures are well suited to an elderly woman spy. She also keeps to the plot.
