I like each installment of this series better than the last, perhaps because at first the writing style caught me off guard, and by this fourth book I was used to it. Pagan is a rollicking character--love his feistiness and common sense! His scribe is unique, yet a chip off the old block. I appreciate Jinks' offering this alternate perspective of the Crusades, and will be including this series in my kids' study of Medieval history this year.
