Interesting book, although I sometimes feel like telling her to "get a life", she worries too much about her dog. (I'm one to talk). Apparently, when she wrote a column for a Boston newspaper, half of the people responding thought that she was very insightful, the other half thought she should "get a life". The author died of lung cancer in 2002, I don't know what happened to Lucille.

This is one of THE best books I have ever read - If you share a special bond with your dog, you will no doubt be able to relate to this book. I have never been one to re-read a book. This one has forced me to make an exception!

A personal story about a dog helping a woman recover from alcoholism, and the psychology of human - animal interaction.
