But then you hear things like, 'Ozzy went to the show last night, but he wouldn't perform until he'd killed fifteen puppies . . .' Now me, kill fifteen puppies...  more »

I've had this book sitting on my shelf for over a year and I'm glad I finally made an effort to read it. Actually one of the best celebrity autobiographies I've read. It was like Ozzy was telling me his life story...but I can actually understand him! (I love when celebrity books are written so well that you can hear their own words as opposed to someone writing it for/as them) I could of done without all the animal abuse stories though :-(

I absolutely LOVED this book. As a teenager in the 80′s of course I knew of Ozzy Osbourne. I would never call myself a big fan of him or Black Sabbath. I listened to some of their songs but never really considered myself a metal head. I did watch the first season of The Osbournes when it came out on MTV. Watching Ozzy is a little bit like watching a train wreck. You know it is wrong because it is obvious that he is in a bad place, yet you simply cannot turn your head. Here is the reality none of us are perfect so we might as well quit pretending along that line. Reading this book is like hearing Ozzy talk in your head. His ghost writer did an excellent job of keeping Ozzys voice. There were many times where I laughed out loud reading this book. His expressions are just that funny. Beyond that, Ozzy is the first to admit the incredibly stupid things he has done. He is not proud of any of it yet he never tries to glorify or justify the bad decisions he made. He just tells it like it is. Oh, by the way, if you are offended by profanity you do not want to read this book. You wont make it through a paragraph without some multiple f-bombs. Somehow on Ozzyit just works.

First off, I'm not an Ozzy fan. I like biographies and saw this one at the library and decided to read it. I'm glad I did! This book has humor running all through it. Some places were laugh out loud funny. I laughed so hard over something that happened with one of Sharon's dogs that I had to read that part to my husband who got a big laugh out of it too.

Having said that, it's not all fun and games for Ozzy. This is the story of his life, failures and success. He has abused his body so much over the years with drugs and alcohol that I'm amazed he's still alive! So is he. I didn't know that Ozzy had been married before Sharon and had 2 children with his first wife. He needed someone strong like Sharon that wasn't going to put up with his crap, yet who has his best interest at heart.

Reading about Ozzy's life as a rocker was pretty much what you would expect. Sex, drugs and rock & roll, all in excess. I would definitely recommend this book even if you're not a fan. It's a quick read and you'll learn a lot about what shaped Ozzy and made him who he is, the good and the bad.
