What an inspiring true story- my 6 year old enjoyed reading this, it is a tale of how people can join together despite personal tragedy to help animals and the story of how an unllikely pair of animals became friends- really an enjoyable tale with the bonus of having a different culture and educational information added

My daughter loves books about animals who becomes friends, and this one fits the bill perfectly. It was recommended to me by a Media Center Specialist, and we were definitely not disappointed. Also, as an adult, it was fun to read aloud, which I can't say for all kids' books, unfortunately. Well worth 5 stars!
