This series is for when you have the time to read about a world that is living at a different pace. The luxuary of all the wonderful details plus a police procedural exploring all the facts of the case. Wonderful. Two spinisters in a small village cause havoc and possibly murder.

A classic puzzle mystery with all of the trimmings. I like Marsh's books more consistantly than i like Christies, and this one is no exception.

This Inspector Alleyn mystery is full of interesting characters. One of the things I like about Ngaio Marsh's peripheral characters, is that they sometimes reappear, maybe years later, in some capacity with regard to a new mystery. Alleyn returns to a remote village to visit friends made in a prior episode. Marsh's rich characters and interesting storyline take the suspense to the end.

But once Inspector Roderick Alleyn arrives, he quickly realizes that the murderer might have killed the wrong woman-and may soon stage a repeat performance...
