A good book for getting insight into someone with a closed-head injury. My brother has one and this let me connect some of his post-accident behavior with the injury rather than his personality. A co-worker with a closed-head injury read it and also felt that it was a good look into his situation.

This book is about a doctor who had a brain injury which changed her entire life. It is not a fairy-tale story, but it does have a happy ending in some ways. It is a story about accepting and overcoming.

It is an important book for families of persons with head injuries and also for the professionals that work with them. Dr. Osborn has been on both sides, as a doctor and a patient. She showed such determination, strength, and courage.

One thing I like about this book is that constantly it focuses on the positive. I'm sure Ms. Osborn has not always met with understanding, kind people, but this book does not really dwell on that. She does focus on all the people who have helped her on her journey, what they have done for her and what has been helpful and encouraging.

I was fortunate to hear her speak back in 2003 at a medical conference. She is well-spoken and related so well to her audience. It is hard to believe that she has so many daily struggles with things that everyone else takes for granted. I highly recommend this book. Please pass it around!

A wonderful look at what a brain injury looks like from the person who is suffering from it. Very easy to read and I connected very well with the character! Great and informative read!

Fascinating book about Claudia Osborn, a physician hit by a car while riding her bicycle one day, resulting in a devastating closed-head injury. What's really amazing is that it's an autobiography, Claudia writing about her own life and struggle to recover from injury to her brain which made every-day living a difficult task.

It's a wonderful memoir written in an easy style. One of the best books I've read in a long time--and I read constantly! It really gives good insight into the daily struggles and altered thinking patterns of a person recovering from head injury.
