This is an amazing first hand glance at the boots on the ground battle for Afghanistan, and the men and women that are sent to far away lands in hope of bringing freedom to its people. The story is told through first person narrative, and gives insight into company level action in Afghanistan including managing personalities, encountering resistance, and treacherous battle scenes. The Outlaw Platoon is a company of men who's unsung heroism lives in infamy through the tales of their division officer. Beatifully told, and mind numbingly action packed, this story will torture your heart with tales of mistreatment and double-crossing, yet will enrage your sould with tales of heroism and bravery never before seen.

Well written book from the soldiers point of view about the war. Unlike so many that like to gloss over things, or not share what the enemy really does to people, this author shared it all. Enjoyable book. Several of my co-workers enjoyed reading it as well.
