This is a well written, easily read evenly balanced look at the difficulties of life as a refugee in the U.S. It offers consideration to those who struggled to open their community to the big change that comes with a high immigration rate, but really focuses on the value of life itself and how one person can help others in their need for hope and purpose. Never boring with the majority of the book in story format while offering historical background, and education on the ethnic cleansing that occurs in Africa.

Absolutely loved this book when it was chosen as The One Community One Book by the Harrisburg PA Area libraries. I wanted everyone I knew to read it. I requested this one for a friend. Now I hear that it is to be made into a movie. That should be very interesting. Most highly recommended.

This is the book that every American should read this year. I have told all my friends about it. I only wish every town with a refugee problem could have a person like Luma.
