This is a good book to read on the plane. It is funny in places and dramatic in others. However, if you happen to leave it on the plane by accident, you shouldn't worry too much. The heroine's refusal to believe what is happening in her life and the long wait for anything to happen in the book frustrated me somewhat. Two stars.

Slow almost through-out the whole book. It did get a bit better the last 30 pages. I didn't love it, I'm still going to give the second book a chance though.
Emma's staid, predictable life working as a librarian is turned upside down when she comes to the aid of a battered young student. Emma becomes embroiled in a world of magic and dreams, working to hunt down and destroy curses which have taken on form and discovering a power she didn't know she had. This is an interesing fantasy book, the first of a series. If you like urban fantasy, you'll probably like this one.

Got one third into the book than lost interest or maybe got distracted. I can't remember anything good or bad about the book. I know if it was interesting I would have read it to the end.
A very interesting fantasy series.
A 50 year old college librarian helps a battered student, and discovers that she's inherited mystical powers from her long lost mother.
